E3 is the world’s biggest gaming conference and expo, bringing together game developers, publishers and fans from around the world to see the latest in videogaming. To AMD, a chip manufacturer providing technology for both console and PC gaming, E3 represents an incredible opportunity to talk to the widest gaming audience available. The challenge was how to breakthrough among a packed agenda of competing press conferences, events and activations. For that, AMD turned to Willis Collaborative.
AMD had no shortage of news to make at the event. There was tremendous anticipation of its forthcoming CPU offerings, and a lot of buzz about its new graphics cards, both of which were set to launch imminently. What was needed was a cohesive narrative that brought together both products in an exciting way, while giving gamers what they wanted to see: games.
Willis Collaborative helped shape the story working with AMD execs and subject matter experts. To help AMD’s developer relations team get top game developers involved, Willis Collaborative helped prepare a sell-in deck demonstrating the benefits of participating. Willis Collaborative drafted talking points for all the developer partners, and collaborated with industry celebrity and event host Geoff Keighley to help frame his discussions with the developers on stage. The result was the best line up of game developers ever featured at an AMD event, all of which showed up with new, never-before-seen trailers and gameplay for gamers to drool over. Onsite, Willis Collaborative was integral to getting the production across the finish line helping drive rehearsals and keeping all parties involved coordinated.
In the end, the show was a big success. Gamers got the news they wanted, saw some unbelievable new games in action on AMD’s hardware, and AMD was thrilled with having its breakthrough moment at the gaming show of year.
